Saving
From level 2, you can save your character. You should do this often, and always do it before you log out. Just typing SAVE will store your details. If you QUIT without saving, you run the risk of losing equipment and experience.
Spell-Up
If you are underneath level 6, you can type CRECALL, then go D E U to receive a newbie spell up which will help you on your way around the Realm. This spell-up is available until level 10, but after level 5, you will need to find a different way there. You can also receive spell-ups from other players throughout your first mort.
Equipment
Some creatures in the realm have equipment. When you kill them you can type GET ALL CORPSE (this is done automatically by default...view 'help auto' for more information on automatic behaviors) to retrieve any equipment and gold the creature was carrying. You may also find some equipment on the ground. If you see an item you want, type GET <item name> and it will be placed in your inventory. You can then look at the item by typing EXAMINE <item name> and even put the item on by typing WEAR <item name>. Equipment is level based, so some equipment may be too powerful for you to wear until you gain some levels.
Information
You character information, and statistics, can be seen by typing SCORE.
Typing WORTH will show you how much gold you have, and also how much experience you need to gain before you reach the next level.
Typing WHO will show you a list of who is playing, as long as they are not invisible or hiding.
Movement
Moving around the Realm is done by entering the direction you wish to go. Eg N S E W (for North, South, East & west)
Sometimes there may be a closed door blocking your path. OPEN <direction> will attempt to open the door. If the door is locked, you will have to locate the correct key, then unlock the door by typing UNLOCK <direction>
Sometimes you will come across portals, or boats. These can be used by typing ENTER <portal or boat name>
Combat
Before starting a fight with a creature within the realm, it is advisable to consider the mob first to see how easy the fight might be. You can do this by typing CON <mob name here>
If you then feel that you want to start the fight, you should type KILL <mob name here>
Be warned though, that some mobs will assist other mobs and join in the fight if they are in the same room as you.
Dying
Eventually, you will die. When this happens you can use the CRETRIEVE command to get your corpse back. If you are under level 30, there will be no charge for this. After level 30, there is a charge of 30 Mist Points which will automatically be taken from you. If you don't have enough Mist Points, then you will not be able to use this command after level 30.
Remember, after retrieving your corpse, to take all your equipment from it and wear it all again by typing GET ALL CORPSE, then typing WEAR ALL.
Should you for any reason lose your equipment and you are level 5 or beneath, then you can use the OUTFIT command to restore a basic set of newbie eq to you. Remember to WEAR ALL after using this command.
Skills & Spells
As you gain in levels you can gain more skills and spells to use in the Realm. These skills & spells are gained from your Guildmaster (the directions to which will be in your newbie guide).
When in the same room as a your GuildMaster, you can type TRAIN to see what stats can be raised. To raise a stat you can type TRAIN <stat> if you have enough train sessions left.
You can also type GAIN LIST to see what new skills you can learn. To gain a skill or spell group, type GAIN <skill>. Again, this will cost train sessions, so you will need to balance increasing stats with gaining skills.
Typing PRACTICE will then show you what skills & spells you can improve. Once you gain new spells and skills you can practice them by typing PRACICE <name of skill or spell>. Practising a skill costs you a single practice session, and some skills can be practiced a number of times. The more a skill is practiced, then easier that skill is to use.

Communication
When you arrive in the Realm you have a number of ways to speak with people who can aid you. The Newbie Channel should be the main source of help to start with. You can speak on this channel by typing NEWBIE <your words here>
If someone is in the same room as you, then you can speak to them by typing SAY <your words here>
Once you reach level 2, you can gossip for help by typing GOSSIP <your words here>
Gossip is a global channel that everybody will see. Please do not spam this channel with constant requests. Once you find someone to help you, you can then use other ways of communicating to them.

Refer to the "Channels" section below for more information.

Hometowns
Depending of what race you chose when you created your character, you will be assigned your home town. Whenever you type RECALL, you will return to that town (unless the room has magical protection which stops you from recalling. If so, you will need to move to another room and try again.). You will also receive a Newbie Guide tailored for that town. Each guide contains directions from your recall point to various places you will need to find.
Assistance
As long as you are in your first mort (before you remort and take another class), other players across the Realm may help you freely - with equipment, spells, etc. Those players who are designated Newbie Helpers (look for the 'NH' flag on the who list) should always be willing to offer assistance, though many times you will need to roleplay your request IC.
Boats & Navigation
To start with, to travel from one continent to another you will need to use boats.
To board a boat, you will need a boat token (unless you are beneath level 10). Over level 10, boat tokens are available (for a small fee in gold, of course) by typing BUY TOKEN from the docks. You can then ENTER <ship name> then move to the next continent.
Shops
When you enter a shop, you can type LIST to see what is for sale. To purchase an item, type BUY <item name> and the gold will be automatically deducted from your inventory. Remember though, that equipment is level based, so don't waste your money buying things you cannot use yet. If you have something you want to sell, and are in the right shop, you can type SELL <item name> to receive payment for it.
Prompts
Your prompt can be customised to help you keep an eye on certain things. See HELP PROMPT in the game to see what things you can have displayed there. A good starting prompt would be:
Prompt (%h/%Hhp)(%m/%Mma)(%v/%Vmv)(%Xxp) : %e %K
This will show you your current, and maximum Hit Points, Mana, and Moves, along with how much experience you need to level, what exits lead out of the room you are in, and the health of any creature you are fighting.
Languages
Different races have different racial languages they can speak. You can learn more languages by going to Zerekiah in Midgaard. Typing LEARN will show you what languages you can learn, and typing LEARN <language name> will gain you that language if you have enough gold and learn sessions. Once you are fluent in a language, you will be able to speak and understand it.

There are a number of global channels within the realm that can be used.

Other players can look at your history by using the 'lookup' command.

Note: Histories and Decriptions can now be 'locked' to protect against accidental changes.
PLOCK is used to enable or disable the editing mode of you bio or description. When locked, accidental changes will not be possible.
