Being involved with a clan not only brings kinship and brother/sisterhood, but it also brings danger and politics, and sometimes conflict is inevitable. War is real and can be declared between opposing factions. The following are the rules of Kombat:
Purpose and Spoils: If a clan wishes to declare war, they must first define their purpose and chose their spoils. The purpose must be IC and fitting the clan concept, the spoils can be either an enemy's clan item (armor, weapons or general - read notes at the end of this file), or one of their territories, or a proportion of their clans treasury. |
War Plan: Once both of the above are identified, the aggressive clan must submit a war plan to the Immortals for review, specifying the chosen enemy, purpose and spoils. The Immortals have the ability to veto a war plan. |
Declaration: After approval of the war plan, the war may be officially declared by the aggressors in a public RpNote. Once war is declared, the target clan has 48 RL hours to either yield to the aggressors and grant them their chosen spoils, or accept the challenge in which case, war shall begin. This response shall be in the form of another public RpNote. Should no response be given, it will be judged that the opposing clan has surrendered without a fight. |
PK Status: Once war begins, all clan members of all clans involved must be active PKill status as soon as they learn of the war. If a clan member refuses to go PK, they are an automatic casualty of the war, regardless of which side they're on. |
Casualties: As clan members are killed, they may not return to PK status until the war is over. When a clan member claims a victim, the winner of the battle must immediately post a note to Immortal informing them of the death. RpNotes should also accompany this kill from all people involved. Lack of these notes from the victor, could invalidate the kill and not have it count towards the war. NOTE: Once you are killed, you may have nothing further to do with the war in ANY way. This includes casting spells on clan members that are still active in the war, gathering equipment for warring clannies, etc. Any violation of this will bring serious repercussions upon you and the recipient of your help. |
End of War: After one RL week has passed, or all of one clan are 'dead' (whichever occurs first), the war is over and casualties will be calculated. |
Final Tally: Casualties will be calculated as a percentage, based on the number losses on every side, and their respective member tallies for war. The number of active clan members (member tally) is determined by how many log on, and participate, for the duration of the war. Regardless of actual clan rosters (i.e. 'Clan A' has 10 members, but only 5 of them log in during the war, the war kill percent is adjusted as if they only had 5 members). |
Illegal Logging: If a clan wishes to avoid war, they should not declare or accept any form of engagement. If clan members are found logging on just to raise the clan member tally, or logging off to survive an attack, the guilty clan will be penalized. |
Safe Rooms: Any player logging in and just residing in safe rooms for the duration of the war will be declared a casualty. Certain situations will allow for the use of safe rooms, but using them for the majority of the war to escape combat will not be accepted. |
Rewards: Once the war is over, if the aggressive clan has won, their chosen spoils will be awarded. If the target clan wins, they will receive the equivalent claim from the aggressing clan, permanently. If it is Territory the clan must be able to support it. If it is EQ this EQ will not count against the clan's maximum allotment. |
War Downtime: Any clans involved in a war cannot re-engage in any war for one rl week, if a clan surrenders before the war starts, the downtime will only apply to the surrendering clan. If a clan engages in active war more than once in one RL month, that clan will suffer war torn economy. This means incoming tributes will be reduced by 25% for a period of two non-cumulative weeks. |
Allies: Other clans can agree to reinforce any clan at any time. All members of the allied clan will have to go PK. The ally will lose eq or Territory if they are part of the losing team, but the loss is not awarded to the winner clan, it is considered un-claimed. The ally may gain eq or Territory if the original clan in the war wishes not to claim the spoils for themselves. Non-Clan members can also 'work' for clans as mercenaries during clan wars. Again, RpNotes from both parties should occur 24 RL hours before it will commence. Example: |
Reinforcements: Clans may not recruit new members during wartime. Any new members will have to wait until the war completes before becoming part of the clan. |
Any violation of these rules by any clan will be severely penalized, if you see any clan member doing so, please note it to Immortal.
| Notes about Clan Items: When Clan EQ is chosen as spoil of war, the Clan EQ is transferred from one clan's shop to the other clan's shop permanently unless the item is won back through another war. If an aggressor is warring against a clan that has acquired a piece of the aggressor's Clan EQ, the aggressor must reclaim their item before they can war for any other spoils. Example: If ClanA declares war against ClanB and ClanB previously acquired a magical helm from ClanA, ClanA must reclaim their magical helm before they can war for a piece of ClanB's eq). |
