Pkill - That is, killing another player. Yes, we DO allow it!

Pkill is now an RP flag dependant feature, you must have roleplayed to an acceptable level and have been set with the flag before you can use the Pkill command. After which, if you would like to become a pkiller, type 'pkill'. However, there are a number of important rules:

1
There is no level limit on pkill, should you become pkill you are at risk of death at all times.
2
ALL Pkill attempts MUST have an IC reason for it. Any un-justified PKill attempts will be dealt with harshly by the Immortals and you may have your RP flag taken away.
3
Non-pkillers should NOT kill any other player, and should NOT be killed by any other player! Non-Pk should also not assist in any Pk attempt.
4
Non-Pk players have the protection of the Mists. That is, they are safe from other players attacking them. This protection however, can be removed. IC threats to other players, or Immortals, or behaviour that is likely to cause major offence IC, could cause the Mists to remove your protection and have you set PK.
5
Killing your own characters for Xp, or Akills is considered multiassisting and will be severely punished. (see help multiassist) Keep Alts apart.
6
Should you partake in "violent" rp that involves the pkilling of others and/or the theft/destruction of eq then expect to stay Pk. What you start you are expected to finish, you aren't safe because you want to be safe. You should think of that before attempting this sort of rp.
7
You are expected to rp pkills, you have to have an IC reason for Pk outside of war. If you can't think of a valid and consistant rp reason for Pk then it is safely assumed you shouldn't attempt that Pk.
8
If you carry stolen eq or clan eq you have to be Pk, there is no exception to this rule. Those you've taken items from must have a chance to regain what they lost.
9
Other than this, there are NO rules to PK. If you are a pkiller and get killed by some means, do NOT expect an Immortal to do anything about it.

Some guidelines to the roleplaying aspect of our pk system:

Common sense is required, undue provocation will cause you to be set as pkill, in order for you to reap what you sow...

Becoming pkill is a very big step and should be thought about before attempting it. Once you become pkill you put yourself at a big risk. Should you anger another player IC and you're both pkill you might just find yourself having to fight rather than talk. This is considered an act of "defending honor" more often than not and is not for the squeamish. Should you be pkilled the best thing is to accept it, very rarely will a player pkill without reason and you might have brought the fate upon yourself. There are the occasional exceptions, which are dealt with in the appropriate manner, as pkill must be considered as justified by the Immortal Staff.

Never if you are not pkill deliberately anger others, it will be seen as cowardly that you can talk the talk but not walk the walk.

As mentioned in the clan helpfile, corpse looting is a rare but possible act. It tends to be seen as an honorless act and should not be attempted by those not willing to accept the consequences.

You must remember at all times that pkill is in fact an rp act, you must have an rp reason for attempting any pkill and you must rpnote about it. We need to have he reasons behind the pkill and how it happened. Those who insist on pkilling others repeatedly without being able to justify their actions may well have the ability to pkill removed from them. Harsher punishment is not out of the question.
