The following list is a list of rules, found in the in-game "help rules", and is current as of November 13, 2005. Please note that while we will make an attempt to keep this page current with any changes, the official list is always available in-game. Please check the list often, as changes occur at the discretion of the immortals. Any such changes are generally announced via notes and/or will appear in the MOTD (the information screen you see immediately after logging in).

If in doubt of any action, please ask an Immortal (not a player who may be wrong) and they will be able to let you know if you can carry on.

Repeatedly breaking the rules, and breaking the rules after you have been warned is likely to result in severe punishment. By playing you agree to abide by these rules and accept punishment for breaking these rules. Keep that in mind.

1
Player Killing:
For more info view the page on 'PK'. There are NO rules to how you can kill a pkiller, if you yourself are a pkiller. Pkill attempts are always classed as IC and should be backed with IC reasons.
2

Idling:
Sitting around idle with a client is hazardous to your health. On the one hand, this mud does allow pkill, so you might just find yourself DEAD when you come back ;) If this still doesn't dissuade you or apply to you, go for the AFK. Any complaints to the imms regarding death while idle will go unheard. Being Idle/Afk whilst having the Addict flag, could lose you the privilege of gaining it again.

3
Multi-playing:
Multi play is not allowed. You many have any number of alts so long as only one is logged in at any one time. Those sharing connections will be taken under consideration.
4
Problems:
If there is a problem with the mud or within the mud, and no imms are available, post a note to Immortal detailing the issue.
5

Bugs:
Cheating is not permitted. This includes exploiting bugs you may find. If you do discover a bug, please note it to Immortal. Cheating and bug exploitation will be punished.

6
Roleplaying:
Please encourage Roleplay at all costs. Doing things for someone at low levels is fine, but at higher levels a price should be figured in, unless it furthers your Roleplay in some way that also promotes the general mud's Roleplay. Also remember that certain channels are for Rp purposes only, these include Worship, Pray, Say, Racetalk, Clan and Farspeak. Also remember that joining clans or deity churches has a major Rp element to it, as well as gaining eq and spells. You will be expected to Rp more if you are a member of such things.
7

Player Assistance:
Players within the first mort can receive help at any level, regardless of the level range limit. Players within 15 levels of you, if not a first mort, or players within the same clan as you can receive aid in the way of spells and eq from you. In regards to helping your clanmates, please read the clan helpfile.

In the case of first mort and other spell ups such can be considered only within reason, they are at the discretion of whomever chooses to spell up the person asking and they cannot be allowed to conflict with existing rules regarding things such as power leveling. Spell ups can be refused.

What you can and cannot do for someone 16 levels or more lower than you:
Cannot:

  • Put mobs to sleep, or weaken them in any way.
  • Spell up. (you may give dirs to a potion or an item that spells them up)
  • Auction eq.

Can:

  • kill a mob that killed them, so they can get their corpse. (you may also summon them to aid in this)
  • Give dirs and advice on what to look for and what to be careful of.
8

Botting:
Botting is not permitted. Any player found to be botting will most likely have that character removed from the game. Don't be surprised if it happens to you.

9

Alts:
When using alts, there are extra rules that apply on top of Rule 3. Only one of your alts is allowed to be clanned. So long as your RP is and continues at a very high level with all characters involved, you may be allowed to have an alt join a Church if you're already in a Church.

10

Personal/Alt Information:
There is no reason for anyone to share the personal information of someone else or information regarding another person's alts. If someone wishes to share that information they will do so themselves. This is a VERY serious issue and any instances of this will be punished harshly.
